Mike Forsyth D.V.M.-Owner of Cottonwood Animal Clinic and Taylor Ranch Veterinary Hospital
Dr. Forsyth splits his time practicing between his two clinics, Cottonwood Animal Clinic and Taylor Ranch Veterinary Hospital. He completed his doctorate at Kansas State University in 1984. He is an extremely talented doctor and loves challenging medicine and surgery cases. In addition to small animal medicine, he also enjoys practicing for Fish and Wildlife Service. When not practicing veterinary medicine he can be found coaching baseball for and spending time with his wife, Alicia, daughter, Kayla, and son, Matt. He also enjoys hunting, fishing and horseback riding.
Janine Cole-Arrington D.V.M.
Dr. Cole-Arrington has devotedly practiced veterinary medicine since having completed her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2003. She has developed strong skill sets and especially enjoys surgery, medicine cases and dentistry. She is an active member of the AVMA and AAEP associations. With a background in small, large and emergency medicine we were very excited to bring her onto the team at Cottonwood Animal Clinic in 2007. When she is not practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Cole can be found spending time with her husband, JJ, dogs; Stormie and Serenity, cats; Savannah and Sebastian, or riding on the Bosque trails atop one of her horses, Dutch or Sinatra. She also enjoys hiking, both water and snow skiing, rollerblading and working out.
Jessica Waugh D.V.M.
Dr. Waugh completed her Doctorate at Kansas State University in 2010. She graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2005 with degrees in Animal Science and Equine Science. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially surgery, dentistry and feline medicine. Her family includes her husband, Anson, two daughters, Morgan and Aylsaa, three beloved Paint horses (Star, June Bug and Twister), 5 rescue dogs (Bear, Duke, Paige, Oso Pequeno and Spottie Ottie Dopalicious), one rescue cat (Cricket), a flock of Cochin hens, a bunny (Spyd) and a Red Eared Slider (Lincon). She enjoys activities with Alyssa's 4H horse club, hiking with her dogs and loves to trail ride with her family and best friend Dr. Cole in the Bosque.
Robin joined Cottonwood Animal Clinic in October 2007 and has been the head veterinary assistant the last four years. Robin enjoys the daily interaction with pets and their owners, she uses her experience and knowledge to help owners become more proactive caring for their pets. Robin enjoys spending time with her three dogs and husband at their Rio Rancho home. Robin is now the head veterinary assistant at our other Clinic, Taylor Ranch.
Liz Ortiz R.V.T.
Liz is a Registered Veterinary Technician (R.V.T.). She earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology from CNM in 2010 and started at Cottonwood Animal Clinic right after graduation. Her favorite aspects of work are dentistry, surgery and inpatient care. When she is not working, Liz enjoys watching movies and spending time with her son and husband. She also enjoys spending time with her dogs Devi and Korbin. Liz has recently become a Mom and is enjoying working part time to spend more time with her son.
Janelle is a Certified Veterinary Assistant (C.V.T.). She graduated from Carrington College in 2012. She moved to Albuquerque from Arizona and joined our team at Cottonwood, as well as, our sister clinic Taylor Ranch. Her favorite aspects of work are patient care and the opportunity to learn something new everyday. Janelle has 2 children. When she is not working she enjoys spending time outdoors and spending time with her family, including her 4 year old rat terrier/ chihuahua, Malu and her 1 year old Boston Terrier mix, Penny.
Cassandra Wright R.V.T.
Cassandra is a Registered Veterinary Technician (R.V.T.). She earned her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology from CNM in 2015 and joined our team at Cottonwood Animal Clinic July 2015. Her favorite aspects of work are patient care and preventative care. When she is not working she enjoys cooking and any outdoor activities. She and her husband have a Pit Bull mix named Lola who is very talkative and enjoys being a lap dog.
Lindsey moved to Rio Rancho in January 2016 from Wyoming and joined our team at Cottonwood Animal Clinic in February 2016. Her favorite aspect of work are compassionate care for her patients and their furparents. She also enjoys radiology and surgery. When she is not working she enjoys fishing, target shooting and horseback riding with her husband Chris and their two dogs, Buster Brown and Tucker.

Kari is a great receptionist at Cottonwood Animal Clinic. She is a dedicated worker and has honed her customer service skills since coming to work here in June 2011. She loves all animals and owns two dogs; Sebastian, Chloe and two horses; Blackjack and Oscar. Kari enjoys spending time with her family; two daughters, a son, daughter-in-law, two grandchildren and playing with her dogs and horses. She is active in her church working in the children's ministry and serving her community in any way she can.
Julie is a great asset to Cottonwood Animal Clinic. She has been in the customer service field for many years. Prior to working with animals, Julie was an elementary school teacher. When Julie is not working she likes touring with her husband, Les, on their motorcycle. She also enjoys spending time with her son and taking her two grandsons on trips to the mountains. Julie loves all animals and has three dogs; Lady, Tramp and Mr. Weenie. Julie is at Taylor Ranch
